Benefits of Shopping Online By S. Kate Hobbs

S. Kate Hobbs

If you have never shopped online, you have missed out on one of the most convenient, and often affordable, ways to purchase items, whether for yourself or as gifts for someone else. There are many benefits to shopping online, including these:

Convenience

The most important benefit of online shopping is the convenience. When you shop online, you do not have to leave your home. You can do all of your holiday shopping, for instance, from the comfort of your easy chair with your laptop in hand. You can avoid the crowds, save gas, and eliminate the stress of visiting a store and finding that they were out of what you needed. Online shopping is, perhaps, the most convenient type of shopping.

Shop Whenever You Want

When shopping online, you do not have to worry about the time the store closes. After all, getting to the store before 9 is not always easy when you do not leave work until 6. You have to eat dinner and spend some time with the family before you can go to the store. When you are online shopping, Canada and U.S. merchants are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You do not have to stress about the clock when you are shopping on the Internet, because the stores are always open.

Compare Prices Easily

Saving money is always a good idea, but when you are shopping in a traditional way, you have to drive from store to store to compare prices. You may be able to compare prices when calling, but not all stores will share prices over the phone, and this presents quite a hassle, because you have to wait for the clerk to find the item, check the price, and then quote it to you.

When you shop online, you can compare prices from several merchants on one computer. Within minutes, you can know who has the best price, how much they will charge for shipping, and how quickly the item will be at your house. In this way, you can get the best possible price for your purchase.

Expand Your Shopping Range

When you shop at traditional retail locations, you are limited by your geographic area. Unless you plan to drive for hours to get to the next shopping mall, you must shop only at the retailers that are in your area. This may not give you the best selection.

When you shop online, you can shop from retailers in other parts of the country, or even the world. You are not limited by geographic area, with the exception of the cost of shipping, which may increase if you shop with a retailer that is quite far from you.

By increasing the number of retailers you can choose from, you do two things. First, you increase your selection. This is especially important if you are shopping for a unique or popular, hard-to-find item. Second, you give yourself the ability to find the item at the best possible price. By increasing the amount of competition for your business, you decrease the price of the item.

Find Online-Only Discounts

You can find discounts when shopping online that are not available in the store. Major department stores often circulate discount codes and free shipping offers that lower the price of your item even more. Before you make an online purchase, be sure to search for these coupon codes. Type the name of your merchant and 'coupon code' in your favorite search engine, and you may find a discount that you did not know existed. When you combine a coupon code with an already low price found by shopping online, you will get great bargains.

Why Learn Affiliate Marketing For Your Online Venture? By Karthick R

Karthick R

Businesses have turned to the internet and they are quick in rewarding visitors. Affiliate marketing can make you happy like a fish in the ocean but only if you learn how it works. With a website you can refer people to certain sites and get paid a percentage on sales made.

Before you warm your stomach with affiliate marketing it’s worth finding knowledge. Many people do not understand this profitable field. It is a means of making money by referring others. Affiliate programs are free and some have set up fee. Simply add a link to your site and visitors who click on it will be directed to the merchants’ page.

There are tracking systems that help you in counting your money. The tools show where visitors originate from and as soon as your account is inflated with money, you receive an email notifying you about the check.

Visitors are potential customers and you have to connect to them. They are your target market. Linking a product to your blog or website motivates them to check out the site and purchase products.

There so many online portals offering lessons on affiliate marketing. You can learn it part time and in a matter of weeks, you are admitted on the bar. It is a business in its own category. Do market research so that you can deal with companies of your interest. If your website trades adult material there is no way you can put up links related to products for kids.

Create an affiliate website and make it visible to the online community. Set automatic responders. By this you’ll be able to track your commissions. Service providers are motivated when you have a wide subscriber base. So increase traffic to your website.

Most people fancy the spirit of working from home. Find a mentor to show you the rope. There is no start up capital. But there are loopholes here and there. Communication break down has been rife especially as a result of the internet. From too much online information you can sieve and pick relevant ones.

Systems of scam are common these days that when you resort to use email, avoid scam. Every body hates spam and will delete them immediately. Be prepared to stay far from appearing like a fraudster.

You may be stuck on how to promote the merchant products. You must be terse and continue sending those emails and newsletters as many times as possible. Some cases, especially now that the whole world is facing hard economic times, affiliate marketing can help a company or an individual.

Unlike traditional advertising where you have to see an advertiser face to face, affiliate marketing is complete with images and text. Banners that direct people to the page of a merchant are also widely used. After all you are making an optimum use of your site visitors. Through honest visitors who need products the clicks they make can be an inspiration to your dying business. The program sell products and services.

Affiliate Marketing Methods as a Means to Online Business Prosperity By Karthick R

Karthick R

Affiliate marketing is a practice where an affiliate is rewarded for their efforts in bringing in a new customer to a site. This is a form of marketing done on the internet. Affiliate marketing is very rewarding. There are several affiliate-marketing methods.

The first affiliate marketing method is the use of articles. Articles are an important method of carrying out marketing. You need to advertise the line of business or product. Write excellent articles about what you offer. Make them informative, detailed and interesting to read. No one wants to read something that is boring. You can choose colorful publications of your articles. Link your articles by having them reprinted by other site owners. Let people get to know you and your services. When you build a reputation, it will be easy to do business without strain.

The second affiliate marketing method is to acquire a market niche. This is all about content. Information and material about the product on offer or the service you intend to render should be available. Your web site for instance should be loaded with such content. There are tools that are used to point out the market niche. People will be attracted to your web site more often than not.

The third affiliate marketing method is to create a mailing list. Most successful affiliate marketers have mailing lists of their clients. This is done by putting together all the addresses people who subscribe to your product. This will help the affiliate marketer communicate with them on a regular basis. Through this method, you can send them free reports and newsletters. These clients will advertise your product because you have taken time to develop a marketing relationship with them. The method is thus generative.

The fourth affiliate marketing method is marketing everywhere. Affiliate marketing is a channel that targets more people for product use. A good affiliate marketer will find this method appropriate. The pay per click method of online advertising works well here. It is however important that you optimize on all channels that are available. To get more clients you have to market yourself everywhere. Some forms of advertising are expensive but sometimes you have to use them.

In addition, creation of web pages is another important method of affiliate marketing. These web pages are built in order to per-sell the product you are affiliated. The review pages will increase the orders of the affiliate product that you are marketing. There are programs that offer a text that will advertise your product. They can again allow duplication of the texts or articles and your link in them.

Another affiliate marketing method is the use of auto responders. With this tool, you are able to create good messages to send to subscribers. The messages are sent as e-mails. The auto responder sends timed email messages to all those who normally sign up for them. A third party however does this and it is important that you hunt for the best provider of such services.

How to Get Quality Backlinks By Luca Moretti

Luca Moretti

Link-building is one of the most important aspects of SEO but many business owners go about it the wrong way. Not all links are going to make a difference in your search engine rankings so blindly accumulating links will not be to your advantage. Of course the top search engines like Google tell us that the best links to have are natural links that you receive without taking any action on your own. While these natural backlinks are ideal, it’s not as easy as it sounds to get them.

Other Types of Quality Backlinks

There are many other ways to get killer backlinks besides naturally. Three factors you can use to measure the quality of backlinks are the source of the link, the motivation behind the link, and the link itself. When judging the source of a link, you have to look at the site’s page rank, how much quality content the site has, and if the site has a high number of quality backlinks itself. Killer backlinks come from popular websites that have high page rank and plenty of quality backlinks.

The motivation behind a backlink is judged by whether you had to manipulate someone or something in order to get the link or if the link was created based on pure intent. An example of a link made with pure intent is when someone makes a natural link to your site because they like your content and simply think you have a great site. A manipulative link on the other hand is a link you had to pay for or otherwise take some sort of action to get.

When judging the actual backlink itself, you have to look at how it is built. A link to your site that says click here is better than no link at all but it can’t be considered a high quality backlink. Ideally, backlinks should have anchor text containing your target keywords.

Tips for Accumulating Killer Backlinks

In a perfect world, hundreds of nice people with reputable websites would find your website and link to it simply because they think it rocks. Such natural links are harder to get than it sounds. The first step you can take towards attracting more of these natural links is by creating top-notch content that is interesting, informative, and useful to your site visitors.

Beyond natural links, there are a number of other types of backlinks that could be labeled killer backlinks. For example, you can share your content with a Creative Common License, allowing people to reproduce your articles, videos, and pictures, just so long as they link back to your site. On those terms, you can receive links anytime someone uses your content.

Creating what is known as linkbait is another way to receive tons of backlinks. Linkbait is interesting content that appeals to a large group of people. It could be a funny photoshopped picture, a catchy blog post about an evergreen topic in current events, and much more. Linkbait, also known as viral content, can attract tons of backlinks to your site in a short amount of time through social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and Reddit.

Other types of content that are viral in nature include content that can be embedded into people’s blogs and sites such as widgets and videos. An incredibly useful widget that includes a link back to your site can not only bring you a ton of backlinks, it can also drive a substantial amount of traffic to your site.

Another way to gather quality backlinks is through submitting your site to reputable directories such as the Better Business Bureau, the Yahoo Directory, and the Librarian’s Internet Index. You can also drive traffic to your site and build killer backlinks when you contribute articles and blog posts to popular blogs and article directories on the web. And don’t forget about the power of online press releases to build killer links to your site.

Link-building is not an exact science but focusing on accumulating quality backlinks will certainly pay off with time. Make the creation of quality, informative content your top priority and you’re sure to gradually attract those awesome natural links. Utilize these other link-building methods as well to help you achieve your long-term SEO goals.

Internet Home Business - How to Spot a Scam By Max Shana

Max Shana

There are several types of online work available out there from data entry, paid survey work, affiliate marketing, selling on ebay right up to having your own website and selling your own products. If you are new to the internet then my best advice is to never ever ever ever purchase the first product you come across on your search for a way to make money online - this is big mistake number one. No matter how exciting the offer may be, or how enticing, or how many porsches they claim they are able to buy, or how many houses they have pictures of they also claim they own - some will even go so far as to say that you will only have to work an hour a day to achieve success. These are just words - there is very little truth to them.

Now these may already sound like scams but the people that run these sites make a very good living off of genuine people who are really trying to make a living online. After all my own research I have come to the following 2 conclusions

1. You should always research at least 20 work from home or online business sites before making any decisions. What you should be looking for is the type of sales page they are using - you will find that many out of that 20 you have found will have almost identical sales pitches - stay away from these. They will make the same outrageous claims, have great pictures of the ferrari they just bought and make you feel like you will be missing out on the biggest opportunity of your life if you don't buy their product - don't worry you won't be missing out on anything, in fact you will be saving your money.

2. Of the ones that you feel are suitable - if they don't actually show you or tell you in words what the actual work is you will be doing - then don't buy it. This is a very common occurrence where you will have a sales pitch that makes all these ridiculous claims, and tells you that you can achieve the same all for the price of xxx amount of dollars - while never actually even telling you what the work is. And then even if you do go ahead and purchase the product - there is no support or help later if you need it (which when you start an online business you will need constant training and support)- and to top it off you will still continue to receive emails from them about all the latest updates you can get for an extra price - which will then cost you more money. The whole idea of making money from home is just that - to make money not to keep spending it !

The best thing you can do if you are new to this business is to do your research. Work out what it is that you want - do you want to get rich overnight ? or do you want long term income. I will tell you here and now that absolutely no online business program out there that is legitimate will get you making money instantly - this type of business should be treated as any other form of business. The hard work does need to be done in the beginning, and then you will see great results.

Affiliate Tools - What Kind Do You Need For Your Company? By Matthew Henderson

Matthew Henderson

One question that many people are always asking is whether or not there are any shortcuts to affiliate marketing. Many people want to make it big in the world of e-commerce, but so few are willing to work for it. Although infomercials and newspaper ads would have us believe other words, internet marketing isn't always so easy. Still, there are some affiliate tools out there that can be used for cutting down costs and saving time.

There are many different types of affiliate tools found on the internet, some of them are really worthwhile and others are good for nothing and just a waste of time. The only problem is actually determining what affiliate marketing tools will help out the most, and how affiliates can go about getting them.

There are keyword search and tracking tools, visitor and traffic tracking tools, web development tools, customer relations management software, and so forth. Each of these affiliate tools can be used in ways that will help small business owners.

Any affiliate marketing tool that helps out with customers, such as customer relationship management software, is essential. In order to market, one has to KNOW the market. In today's highly competitive world of e-commerce, affiliates and internet companies not only have to fight for customers, they also must fight to keep them. Therefore, any affiliate tools that will help affiliates develop a better understanding of their customers' needs need to be considered.

There are other important tools as well, some of which are more essential than others. Some may not realize it, but having an affiliate website is considered to be a good affiliate tool for anyone who wants to make money on the internet. It's a website, after all, that connects businesses and affiliates with their customers. Therefore affiliate marketers need to design their sites in such a way that is not only pleasing to the eye but user friendly as well.

Ease of navigation is also a must. All the content needs to be placed professionally throughout the pages, and product information needs to be clear and concise. Additionally, pictures of the products need to be clear and detailed. There needs to also be a contact page so that visitors can get a hold of the affiliate with any questions they may have. In fact, the only way a website will truly be an effective affiliate tool is if the webmaster provides potential customers with prompt answers to their questions, and customers with prompt order processing.

Other affiliate marketing tools that can be extremely helpful are incentives and freebies. Yes, the more free samples or discounts affiliates give out, the more they will end up selling in the long run! Some popular promotional items include customized pens, t-shirts, stickers, mouse pads, and more. Any internet company that can afford any kind of promotion or affiliate tool should consider giving out free gifts. They don't have to be expensive, and as studies show that the most generous online businesses are often the most successful.

Directory Submission Technique of Link Building By Anwar Alam

Anwar Alam

There is a dispute as to whether directory submission is an efficient link building technique still or not. If we go straight to the base, it can be said that it was and as of yet is an efficient link building technique. How successful this specific link building method will work for you will depend rely on how many and to what sort of directories you are submitting your site to.

Amount of backlinks has always been a key aspect for organic search engine placement. Recently Google is granting preference to the type of links as well. If by any chance you can get to achieve the quality in your link building venture in addition to the number of backlink you are getting, then there would be no question in mind that you will dominate your industry and squash the competition. It is highly recommended that before you begin the directory submission process, you should look to find as many quality directories as you possibly can get. A realistic looking link building process must include wide range of directories where some need to be from different geographic location.

It is very well known that websites with quality possess more authorities as far as Google is considered. DMOZ, also known as Open Directory Project is one of the higher authority directories which any directory submission campaign must consider submitting to. Where submitting to DMOZ cost-free, this specific directory maintains very high standards and approval time is also very long.

With exclusion of DMOZ, most of the other high standards and high authority directories are paid where one needs to pay for the directory submission. In some of the directories, the review fees do not guarantee acceptance. If for some reason your submission does not get approved, the review fees are most of the time not refundable. So it is important to make sure that you have a good quality site before you even consider submitting to these paid directories.

Link building is truly an important step towards search engine marketing and ranking. Since sites get higher position on leading search engines based on backlink quantity and the value of those links, you need to spend enough of time developing a rock solid link building plan with link building tricks that work. Directory submission should be included in any link building drive not only because it’s fruitful but also to create diversity in your link building venture.

It is not very difficult to gather a list of hundreds or thousands of directories where one can submit a site to as there are virtually ton of web directories out there on the net. It may be easier to locate a somewhat OK directory list where there are lot of directories listed already. If you can not happen to get a list of directories and need to get your hands on whole bunch of directories you want to submit to, you can try a some reputable webmaster forums where directory list like this get posted often by members.

If you find it challenging or tremendously time consuming building a list and then submit to the directories manually one by one, you can think about outsourcing your directory submissions to an SEO Company who can submit to as much directories as you want them to submit. Do a little research on the SEO Company you wish to outsource to and try to find few reviews about their reputation and services. If the company in question is reputable, then you should find at least a few reviews about them somewhere.

The 5 Reasons We Like Crime on the Internet By Jon Jay

Jon Jay

There is rampant crime on the internet and we like it. There is no doubt that the Internet has become the Wild Untamed West of our time. There are charlatans wandering from browser to browser selling snake oil and bandits holding up the Internet travelers. There are also plenty of brothels with women lifting their petty coats for a few coins. Why have we allowed the immoral Internet to permeate our society? No one is Marching on Washington, boycotting web hosts, canceling associations with web browsers or even starting a shoot out. Why do we allow it to continue? Why are we not protecting each other and our children? I have some ideas.

We Like our Secret Vices

In every society people have behaved immorally. The Internet just makes it so easy. I think most of us can agree that scamming people out of their money, steeling identities, and posting child pornography are wrong. Or is wrong too strong a word? We all do little things that we hide from each other. We commit our secret crimes. Lying to your boss and taking a sick day. Inflating our deductions on our tax returns. Taking office supplies for personal use.

Our nature is to take a little more then we deserve and justify our behavior, while hiding it from our families and associates. The Internet is the perfect place to commit our secret crimes. We feel a little rush having gotten away with it, while also being safe and distant from our victims. We can watch a little soft Internet porn, without having to check out the R rated video with 'Breasty' Daisy Duke on the cover. Bonus! We can skip directly to the 'good part' without wasting time on the cheesy story line. We can gamble for hours having won a little or lost a lot, while also being home to tuck the kids in and read a bedtime story. We can sell questionable products to unwary customers without having to see the scammed at the grocery store. We can gossip in chat rooms without the guilt of having betrayed a friend. We can say nasty things without having to face our co-conspirators. We can spend more then we should shopping for items we don't need without driving to the mall. I think I can safely say that 'we like our vice in the web safe form'.

We are Distant from Our Victims

Who are we really hurting anyway. The porn actress signed up and got paid for her work. The celebrities got filthy rich with their Britney Spears sized exposure. The uneducated who spent their money on useless products would have waisted their money somewhere. The dope who signed up for that sub-prime loan would have lost his home sooner or later, one way or another. That emotionally unstable teenager would have committed suicide even if her nude photos were not posted and forwarded to her classmates. These are all just faces and names that come and go. We forget them quickly, as we open a more wholesome browser window.

There are so Many Shades of Grey

It is so easy to justify our crimes and minimize how we are complicit. All the actresses on the site are over 18. The 18 year old may look like she is 15 but I am still looking at an 18 year old. Aren't I?

How was I supposed to know that the product I was selling was not what it was advertised to be? I was just marketing it for the distributor. The buyers should have known that buying Viagra from a discount site was risky. Besides, he should not have taken it once he saw it was shipped from China. I won't even feed my dog something from China. I won't let my kids play with lead laden toys from China. What was he thinking? Hopefully he learned his lesson after the embarrassment of having his stomach pumped by that sweet nurse. I wonder if she has a web site?

We are Oblivious to the Crime and the Social Consequences.

We are all just doing the best that we can to take care of our families and put food on our tables. The skyrocketing rate of teen pregnancy has nothing to do with Internet pornography. The collapse of the housing market has nothing to do with unethical Internet mortgage brokers. The melt down of the stock market has nothing to do with risky trading and dishonest speculation. Escalating teen violence has nothing to do with Grand Theft Auto and beat downs posted on You Tube. Infidelity and divorce have nothing to do with racy chat rooms.

We can Walk Away with the Rush of our Crime Without the Guilt

We can log off, smile at our coworkers, talk to our kids about doing the right thing, attend social events, give to charity and feel good about ourselves. When we are ready for a little loose morality we can log on again for our quick fix. This is why we do nothing about the Wild West of the Internet and allow it to continue.

Discover Your Passion and Make Lots of Money Online By Jon Jay

Jon Jay

You know those stories about people who made big money on line and spend their days doing what they love. Those stories are not fairy tails. Being successful on the internet requires finding something you are passionate about and running with it.

Do you remember when you were young and passion came so easily? You could get excited about a girl, a car, a song or your favorite pair of pants. Life has a way of sucking the passion out of you, to a point where it is difficult to get excited about anything. I think my passion got shoved in a box when I started worrying about getting the kids to school and saving for their college fund. Life became consumed with the practical, the mundane, the routine and the necessary.

I have discovered that being successful on the internet requires unpacking my passion and enjoying life again. On the surface this sounds great, but most of us grown ups find this very challenging. I guess, we have gotten so used to living with reserve, cutting loose is awkward.

Do you remember that first job, when you discovered that passion and creativity were looked down upon? The job required that you keep your head down and go with the flow. Do as you are told for goodness sake and don't make suggestions. I discovered that being successful in the corporate world required keeping my mouth shut and my passion hidden. I was a great team player!

Find a Product or Service that You Love

The key to internet success is finding a product or service that you love and can get excited about everyday. Are you into cars, guns, gardening, comic books, politics, classic music, antiques, collectables, dolls, art, photography...? What do you like spending your spare time doing? What are you really good at? When you have free time how do you spend it? Find what you are passionate about and everything after that will come easy. Well maybe not easy.

Discover How to Make Money Doing What You Love

Now you ask 'How do I make money off my obsession with cabbage patch dolls'? First, you have to admit you have a problem! Just kidding. If you love dolls you can create a doll website, or a doll club, or you could market a company's doll products, You could buy dolls for cheap online and then market them for their retail value.

Once you discover what you love, you will need to find a way to make money with it. That's the next challenging step. You need to develop an understanding of how the internet works and how people make money with their products. This is as easy as putting 'making money with dolls' into your search engine. Thousands of results will pop up and you will have to wade through them. Then it is Research Research Research. Don't skip this step. The better you understand the industry the more easily you can make some educated decisions about your direction.

Find an Engine that can Teach You the Ropes

You will have to develop a basic understanding of marketing and web design. This is why internet entrepreneurs get discouraged and give up. The weight of these details hinders the inspired from continuing.

Lucky for you there are thousands of programs out there interested in helping. They sell some kind of program to get your feet off the ground. Again these require Research Research Research. Keep researching and you will find an engine that will turn your doll obsession into gold.

Three Suggestions when Choosing Your Engine

1- Only use a program that is 100% money back guaranteed for 60 days or more. Many products are guaranteed for 30 days. This isn't enough time to get the box open and give it a try. If the product doesn't work then SEND IT BACK. It doesn't matter if it is your fault or the products fault. If it doesn't work for you SEND IT BACK. Take your money and buy another doll. Don't waist your money on something that didn't work for you.

2- Only use a program that has a customer support line, an actual phone line with an actual person. If you have to jump through hoops, speak to a computer and talk to a different person every time you call then don't do it. Develop a relationship with one or two of the customer service representatives and always speak to the same person. If you buy the program and you discover that the customer service sucks then SEND IT BACK! Try a different program or buy another doll.

3-Only use a program that is very detailed and gives you lots of information and credible proof that it works. If it has been effective for other people then their should be lots of signs that point to this success. You should have a very clear idea about how the program works and how you will be making money with it. If you open up the program and are disappointed then SEND IT BACK!

If you find your passion you can make all the money you want online!

SEO Tips For New Webmasters By John Dow

John Dow

We decided to make a quick list of SEO Tips for new webmasters or website owners to help eliminate all the confusion and outrageous claims of secrets and backdoor methods. Make no mistake about it, there are what are termed “blackhat” SEO techniques. But they rarely provide any long term value since they are quickly found and eliminated by the search engines, and punishment is swift.

A lot of people want to make search engine optimization appear to be highly technical and secretive. If you go to any of the popular search engines information pages, they give you the basic guidelines and even provide some good ways to check your website for potential problems. There are no secrets, the exact method search engines use to rank and index pages is proprietary to protect against people who would use that information to corrupt the integrity of the search results.

So to cut through some of the long and less than exciting information available on SEO, we compiled a simple list of necessary procedures to follow when creating any new website page. Which brings up another issue that may be misunderstood. Search engines rank website pages, not the entire website. Each website page stands on it’s own in being ranked and indexed.

SEO can be split into two areas. One is on page, which deals with how you present and format any information. The other is off page, which deals with links that point to your website pages. Another key point is not to sacrifice user-friendly aspects for SEO methods. The visitor experience should always be considered when trying to create a search engine friendly website page.

SEO on page factors are:

Meta Tags – Your title, description, keywords, should match the content. Using your keyword phrases in each in a logical and accurate manner for both search engines and vistors is important.

File Names – The page file name, graphics alt text, and any associated files should be named using the keyword phrases or related terms as they apply.

Theme – Keyword phrases should be used in natural way a long with associated and related terms. Don’t over do the keyword phrase (called “stuffing” keywords), use where necessary but don’t over use. Use H1-H6 HTML tags to indicate important titles (H1 being the most important, H6 being the least). You can also use other font attributes to indicate importance like bold, italics, or even colors.

Navigation – All navigation links should use descriptive anchor text to make it easy for both the search engines and the visitors to understand the content. If you use pull down menu graphics as element of design, make sure you also include anchor text equivalents somewhere on the website page.

SEO off page factors:

Links – Off page SEO is primarily all about links to your website page from other website pages. The authority or what Google calls Pagerank, is a point of consideration, since Pagerank can flow downwards to your website page (i.e. a Pagerank is between 1-10, the higher the number the more value). The perfect link, if there is one, would be from a high Pagerank website page of similar or like content that uses anchor text that accurately describes the content of the page being linked too.

There are many opinions on the amount of Pagerank that flows down, the weighting of the content, and the accuracy of the anchor text. Your best bet is to go with the basics of all three and be done with it.

Too many new webmasters get caught up in all the nuances and details of every specific aspect of off and on page SEO. You can easily drive yourself crazy with all the different opinions and the latest tricks or trends. The search engines constantly update the mathematical algorithms they use to rank and index website pages. The search engine’s goal is to produce the most accurate search results and to eliminate any attempts at beating the system.

The best SEO tip I can give is to follow the search engine guidelines, provide high value content, and always keep the visitor in mind while doing any SEO. Once a visitor arrives, you need to make sure that the information you present does its intended job, whatever that might involve. If direct sales, convert them to a buyer. Or maybe sign up for your newsletter, or additional information.

Getting tightly targeted search engine traffic is great, but always keep the visitor experience in mind when doing search engine optimization. Try not to get lost in the weeds and forget the main purpose of your website, whatever your goals. Sometimes the best SEO tips for new webmasters are to keep it simple and effective for both the search engines and the website page visitors.

Several Ways to Make Money Online By Bryan Halverson

Bryan Halverson

There are millions of people that search the web on a daily basis. The World Wide Web is such an incredible place. It is the only destination where you can shop a New York store, and then seconds later shop a local mom and pop shop in Arizona. The Internet offers you the ability to find that sold out item that you could not find at the local brick and mortar store. The Internet opens many possibilities that were not offered just a decade ago. The Internet is an ever changing and constantly evolving structure.

There are three main ways to make money online:

Get Paid to Surf & Participate

It is easy to get paid to surf the net and participate in games, chatting, signing up for offers or taking surveys. This is probably not the route to making money online if you do not want to give out your credit card number. There are offers available in which you do not need to supply personal information such as your credit card number, however the money made is much less.

The surveys you see offering a $1,000 for your opinion is correct. You can earn this money, but with many steps attached. You will often have to sign up for numerous trial programs, but you do have the option to cancel all trials. Do not forget to cancel, or you could wind up losing the money you earned.

Tip: sign up for an email address specifically catered to taking surveys, as you will quickly become a junk mail magnet.

Get Paid to be a Webmaster

Already have a webpage, pair up with Google and AdSense. Google offers AdSense banners that are not flashy or distracting from the content of your web pages. Instead they offer information closely related to content on your website.

The Google program works in a very different manner than what many other click programs work. According to the AdSense payout the structure works like this:

When a publisher who signed up for Google AdSense through your referral earns $5.00 within 180 days of sign-up, you will be credited with $5.00. When that same publisher earns $100.00 within 180 days of sign-up and is eligible for payout, you will be credited with an additional $250.00. If, in any 180 day period, you refer 25 publishers who each earn more than $100.00 and are all eligible for payout, you will be awarded a $2,000.00 bonus.

Get Paid to Read Email

This is not going to be a program where you will receive hundreds of emails a day making you an instant web success. It is safe to say these get paid to read emails will trickle in, but once completed you will usually get paid very quickly. You can get paid anywhere from a half cent to five cents per email click. Many payouts are set at $3-$7.

There are many different ways to make money online. These three methods are a little less conventional and not the first ideas that would come to mind, but still are a great way to put more money in your pocket.

Why Search Engines Love Video? By Joshua Z.

Joshua Z.

Perhaps you are a contractor, a builder or a remodeler and you find yourself being confronted by the beast, “how do I generate leads that will turn into sales through online marketing.” Social media is one of the hottest construction marketing topics lately. And if you do some snooping around, you will find that videos and video blogs take a vital role in social media. They are slowly overtaking texts and graphic messages that will create brand retention and eye training to recognize your brand almost immediately.

If you do some searching around Google or any of your favourite search engines, you will find that videos posted through video sharing sites like Youtube or Metacafe rank in the top of the list of searches. You will probably come to the conclusion that search engines love videos and that they prefer these over any other content. However, this is simply not true. Most web pages do not rank higher just because of the videos that they contain in their sight. It is not true that search engines prefer video content over texts and graphics. It is simply because they use other Search Engine Optimization processes that actually help in landing them at the top of the search engine’s list.

Some of the factors that contribute to this phenomenon are: page titles and contents, some back links or how often and how many people actually link to your page, and what we call Google Page Rank. A clear-cut example of that these factors truly affect search rankings would be YouTube. This website has a Page Rank of 9, therefore bringing it closer to the top of the list. It also has millions and millions of back links to it. Blogs usually link to this site and most bloggers use YouTube as a way to upload their videos that are automatically linked to their personal sites.

So in reality, these YouTube videos rank well because they are on top of the page ranks and that they have a lot of back links and not because they have videos on them. When videos are embedded in other websites using object tags, it helps put them on top of the search engine list. Search engines are not human to recognize that these tags are actually videos and not some other contents like text or graphic messages.

Search Engine Optimization in videos helps leverage the content of a website so that it places the website on top of the search engine list. So the next time you try searching using Google or any of your other favourite search engines like Yahoo and many more, you will now have a better understanding why some videos appear at the top of the list. It is merely a good use of the SEO process that placed them there and not because search engines actually prefer videos over any other content.

What can be frustrating at times is that regardless of how bad or good the video is, they are still on top of the list. And if you’re a person who is looking for the exact answers to your search, or a business owner trying to market your services online, you will see that videos take over precedence. So if you are well on your way towards increasing your business success, then open your eyes to this new way of marketing your services. Create videos that maximize SEO so that you can be sure that when people search about what you do, your website comes up at the top of the list.

Signing up for a YouTube or other video streaming sites is not difficult at all. You can easily create an account in these sites, start your very own commercial or video advertisement, reminders and tips, and increase your marketability today. Just make sure you clearly maximize the use of the SEO process, and you’re all set and ready to go.

Make Money Online With Internet Marketing and Membership Sites By Jason Creation

Jason Creation

A lot of people have been talking lately about the great benefits and money to be made from starting up your own membership site. Is it really going to make any difference to you internet marketing business though? This article takes a look at a few things you may like to consider before plunging into starting your own membership site.

Is it right for you and what you are trying to achieve? That really depends on what your aim is. Obviously you have become an internet marketer to make some money, preferably plenty of it.

Before we go any further, I do suggest that if you are working as an affiliate marketer spreading your net across many niches; don't bother with a membership site. If your internet marketing efforts are concentrated more in one or maybe two niches then it may be worth considering.

To set up a really successful membership site you need a few things to get started. The first is content. There is no point having a site if there is nothing for people to learn or contribute too, especially if you expect to make money from it (and for internet marketers that is the general idea).

Most sites are set up with a public area, to entice viewers in, and a private paid area, where you start to make your money. The tricky bit here of course is that your public area needs to be attractive enough to bring people in, and your private area needs to offer enough of a quality attraction to make people feel it is worthwhile belonging, and for them to want to stay.

If you genuinely have enough expert knowledge about your particular niche you have a better chance of making your membership site. As the CEO or administrator your following will very simply expect this for your site to have credibility. There is the option too of course of finding another internet marketer to partner with you on the site so you are not carrying this load alone.

It is not an easy task to get a site up and going. You will need the right software and the knowledge to use it, or be prepared to pay for someone who does. Passwords tend to be a particularly tricky area to get right in terms of allowing people into different areas of the site. If you are pretty computer savvy and enjoy a bit of a challenge by all means have a go.

On the other hand, off-page optimization involves link marketing, monitoring your search engine rankings, and paid online advertising. Link building is about building a link neighborhood with other pages or sites with similar content as yours. Having web pages with high page rank to post a link leading to your own page will help boost your page ranking.

Perhaps some of these considerations seem a little off-putting, don't worry. They are simply that, considerations. Many people are finding that setting up their own membership site is bringing a lucrative and steady income to their internet marketing business. It may well work for you too. Why not do a little more research and decide for yourself?

Basic Rules on Generating Internet Traffic By Anil Vij

Anil Vij

Present are scores of ways to develop popularity for your website from sources outside the Internet. One approach is receiving promotion articles from native newspapers. Newspaper articles are a strong means of promotion for your website because there are two distinct kinds of promotion that can be generated from a only some simple newspaper stories. The primarily is the publicity from the article itself, and following is the “word of mouth” hum that is generated as family who have read the newspaper articles speak about it to their relations, associates and co-workers.

To put this nature of promotion into action you will want to develop a promotional activity in your local community that is news valuable and then produce a press release to be submitted to your neighboring newspaper to build interest and excitement. There are a few ways to go on the subject of this. One such mode would be to coordinate a open seminar and enroll native citizens to help out set up and operate the affair.

You may perhaps offer a few of your products and/or services as door prices or as raffle prizes, and to support in building awareness and excitement in the event you might ask other local small business to get involved by offering free food or donating prizes as well. A new objective would be to run a non-profit event with the proceeds open to a admirable local charitable trust or organization. This is sure to get a lot attention from the press! At any rate you will want to interest as many people as feasible to diminish the price tag of the event and make easier spread it out amongst those involved. A well intended event could be run lacking any out of pocket expenditure on your part. Be creative and always egg on others to get involved.

This scheme does necessitate a bit more effort and planning than most predictable promotional techniques, but the exposure and hype your site will get make this well worth the exertion.

Once you have definite on the style of promotional occasion you want to conduct, while you are scheduling the event you will need to write a press release and get it to your home newspaper as rapidly as possible. Scores of newspapers will want to take in the event and will almost always write more than individual article about the event as its arrangements are underway, and on the time of the event itself. If your event goes effectively, you can sum on a spill-over effect in promotion from the newspapers as well as new news broadcast sources.

All site owner along with Webmaster wants to complete high-level Google PR for their website or blog without the breaking their promotion finances. What nearly everyone overlooks are the tremendous results that link baiting supply.

What is link baiting? Link bait is a style of using attractive article and anchor text titles to induce a web surfer to click a link to view the information or article on a website with an inducement, or limitless download or other offer that builds excitement or requirement for this information, product or service.

A simple link bait procedure may possibly be as simple as offering complimentary downloads of eBooks, software, coupons for good or services, or something that the site visitor will consider constructive or advantageous. A perfect case in point of link baiting in action is the sensation caused over links on the Internet for a complimentary download of Paris Hiltons sex video. There were an estimated 780,000 links present downloads of this video and more than 80% of them were links to the first source.

The object is to build appealing excitement with an article or subject matter on your blog or website that will construct in bound links from other sites. Your subject is the enticement, and the link is the catch. One of the easiest habits to create link bait is to take a popular news headline and write an explosive attractive article and then present it to the web and watch as other websites and blogs link to your article. The correct power in link baiting is that this technique can be constant over and over again motivating quality incoming links to one'ssite. Keep in mind that this skill will have more impact and give added quality links if your content is first and dynamic. And a site that has a considerable amount of content is more apt to get superior overall rankings from having a bigger index of pages on the search engines. An painless way to do this is to merge in some free subject matter from article directories, but it is a useful idea to keep the amount of original content higher than the free content.

If you have a blog site running WordPress or one of the new standard Blog formats next you will able to send off automatic pings to blog directories and new social networking sites after every recent article is published.

Failure in Affiliate Marketing Exposed By Anthony Heng

Anthony Heng

Today, affiliate marketing is an extremely big and competitive market. Do not be surprised that you or your friends might be into affiliate marketing. It is definitely one channel which you can generate additional income other than your full-time job. In this affiliate business, both affiliates and merchants are on win-win situation. However, to be able to get a sale materialize depends a lot on how good the affiliate marketer is. Some affiliates have better selling strategies, web presentation or advertising and are thus more successful in this line of business. So an affiliate marketer must be creative enough to employ thinking-out-of-the-box ways to convince visitors to purchase the promoted products.

Why still so many people fail in affiliate marketing? Some main reasons which I have brainstormed are as follows:

1. Lack of web planning

As an affiliate marketer, you must do your homework on site-planning. All concerning factors, such as domain name, layout design, site contents and ads, must be studied and planned beforehand. Failure to plan, lack of rich-content, or ugly site layout, will highly result in failure. Websites with high quality contents and relevant keywords allow you to earn big in affiliate marketing. If you won't be able to sustain the interest of your site visitors, it would be hard for you to lead them to the merchant site. Thus no click-through means no sale and no income ultimately.

2. Lack of advertising

Affiliate marketing is not as simply directing customers to the business site. You have to do more than that. Time investment and tremendous amount of hard work must be dedicated to promoting the products. Remember the notion that every customer wants to get the best purchase in terms of price and quality.

3. Selecting the wrong domain name

Make sure you are using top level domain name. Many a time affiliate sites do not appear in search engine results because they are not a top level domain name, and are deemed as non-business related sites. You must also decide properly and appropriately on your domain name. Make it relevant to what you are promoting or else visitors will not go to your site.

4. Choosing the wrong affiliate program

Research on and choose a suitable affiliate program. Study on the good-paying merchandisers before you sign up for the affiliate program. Ensure that the merchant products and services match your interests first so that you will give your utmost attention and dedication to the program. Try reading relevant articles and get tips or advice from other experienced affiliate marketers on how to choose the best merchants and products with high conversion rate. Remember, your site must match your targeted niche visitors. A lot of people simply sign up for any affiliate program without carefully understanding every aspect of the business. When they do not see instant results, they just quit.

Other than the above factors, you need to possess the right attitude too. Many fail because they expect to earn big quickly. You have to look in the long-term if you want to be successful. You will need to polish up your knowledge, such as advertising to marketing and search engine optimization. Most importantly, you must study the market wants and needs continually without fail. As the saying goes, persevere and never give up - you will never know the final outcome until you have tried your very best.

Resources of Search Engine - SEO By SUMIT NANDA

SUMIT NANDA

Search engine optimization is a rapidly evolving field of internet marketing, and developments in search engine optimization have kept webmasters on their toes. Everyday, a new development causes webmasters to change the way they optimize websites for search engines. To understand search engine optimization, it is important to understand the term ‘Organic Search Results’. An organic search result is a result generated by a search engine based on the keywords typed by the user, and an organic search result has nothing to do with paid advertising like Google Adwords. In essence, a webmaster cannot ‘buy’ his way to better organic search engine results.

Search engine optimization is essentially improving the design, structure and content of a website to achieve higher organic search rankings. Although there are hundreds of aspects that constitute search engine optimization, there are a few basic terms involved in search engine optimization that need to be understood:

Link building

Google uses a unique algorithm to calculate the importance of a webpage with reference to other pages. Google counts the number of incoming links from other websites and then uses a unique PageRank algorithm to calculate the PageRank of a website. Contrary to popular belief, link building is not just generating incoming links to a website; Google has implemented a concept that ensures that only ‘relevant’ incoming links to a website are counted when calculating the

PageRank of a website

Link building is no longer a simple procedure, and experts carry out extensive research to ascertain if a link will be labeled ‘relevant’ by Google. In addition, Google has also started cracking down on paid links and directories are still the safest bets when it comes to link building.

Website content

There is a popular saying, when it comes to search engine optimization: content is king. Google uses a unique website indexing technique called LSI (Latent Symantec Indexing) that ensures that the content of each website is indexed along with a website’s page details. Google takes into account the keyword density, and other content related details to carry out a comprehensive ‘keyword’ based analysis of content.

Once Google has analyzed the various keywords on a website, it then stores all the relevant keywords for organic search results. The moment a user enters a keyword in Google for a search, Google automatically brings up websites that have been indexed for the relevant keywords. It is important to remember that content can change over a period of time, and a good search engine optimizer has to carry out a comprehensive keyword analysis before deciding which keywords should be targeted. Once the relevant keywords have been targeted, a search engine optimizer then proceeds to create content that has a high keyword density.

To understand the concept of keyword density, let’s assume a website has 500 words of content. If the keyword ‘used cars’ appears in the 500 words 10 times, then the keyword density of the keyword ‘used cars’ will be 2%. Google calculates the keyword density of all keywords in a similar manner.

Using videos for search engine optimization

Apart from the usual venues like images and content, search engine optimizers have started turning to the latest in multimedia content: videos. Websites like YouTube and Google Videos can be used to generate search results for videos, and thus increase incoming traffic to a website. For example, a Google search for the keyword ‘Jay Z’ brings up images and web pages in addition to a YouTube video for the latest Jay Z video ‘Blue Magic’. Videos can be used much like images to increase traffic. Videos also have detailed tags that direct Google bots about the content of the video and which keywords the video should come up for. Google currently supports websites like YouTube and Google Videos while indexing videos.

Anthony Heng

Wouldn't you want to generate traffic to your site without spending a single cent? Bet it would seem like mission impossible but wait, I will share with you some methods. To be frank, paying for advertisements is the easiest and fastest way. But surely there is no harm trying out some free methods. The only concern to be honest is that it may take a bit of time to judge the effectiveness. But it is still worth trying.

1. One good idea which I can think of is to trade links with other similar niche websites. This is a win-win situation. Both link-exchanged sites stand to gain when visitors to either site may have the tendency to click on each other links (vice versa). But, make sure you get a confirmation agreement with other webmaster before you do this. Note that both inbound and outbound links are very important aspect of web traffic.

2. Another great way is to write articles. Try to write articles that provide useful information such as tips or guides related to your niche business. Make the contents as interesting and easy to read as possible. Most importantly, do include your web link so that visitors reading your articles know where to go should they want to visit your site for more information. By doing so, you would generate traffic flowing to your site as time goes. There are many sites, such as isnarearticles, ezinearticles, etc, which provide free articles submission and posting. Try it out.

3. Make good use of keywords and keyword phrases for your site. Make your site as informational, interesting and content rich as possible. Quality content counts too. With the right keywords, it is possible that search engines may place your site on higher rankings, at no costs. But do not overdo it. It is best to maintain an optimal keyword density throughout your web site.

4. Try out online forums. Do discussion and information exchange targeting your niche business. Present to others your fabulous expertise and build trust with other forum members. When people know you have quality stuff, they will make it a point to visit your site regularly. Think of it as free self-advertisement. Remember, being trustworthy is an important trait in every business.

5. Last but not least, provide some kind of newsletter. Make sure you have the latest interesting and informational updates so that visitors will be entice to visit your site regularly, hungry for content. Moreover, people who like your site will definitely recommend it to their colleagues, friends or relatives, thus generating more traffic. And this is exactly what you want, more traffic.

Above are only some basic ways which can provide free traffic. There are a lot more ways which I can think of. So can you. Most importantly, do not forget to constantly update your website to keep it alive. All it takes is to put in your utmost effort and I am sure you will be able to have your site up and running with tremendous traffic flow.
